Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Intellino is a study app for students, so protecting kids' privacy matters a lot to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you and your parents have. It covers the Intellino app for iPhone and iPad and the website intellino.ai.
Short version
- We collect only what we need to make the app work.
- We never sell personal information and never show targeted ads.
- Parents can see, change or delete their child's information at any time.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: a username, grade level and, for the parent or guardian, an email address. We do not ask kids for their real name, address or phone number.
- Study content you give us: photos of notes or homework, typed questions, vocabulary lists and notes you add for the AI. We use these only to create your flashcards, tests, answers and tips.
- App activity: which tools you use, your points, daily check-ins, collectible items and progress, so we can show your "For You" suggestions and rewards.
- Subscription information: whether your trial or subscription is active. Payments are handled by Apple, and we do not see or store payment card details.
- Basic technical information: device type, app version and crash reports to keep the app working.
Please do not put personal details (like your full name, school, address or photos of people) into photos or questions.
2. How we use information
- To run the app and create your study materials.
- To personalize suggestions and to show "Trending Asks" based on common questions, shown without names or usernames.
- To manage rewards, subscriptions and customer support.
- To keep the app safe, fix bugs and improve it.
We do not use children's information for advertising or marketing to them.
3. AI processing
To answer your questions and build study tools, the content you submit is sent securely to AI service providers that process it for us. These providers may only use it to provide the service to us and are not allowed to use it to advertise to children.
The photo and question box on our website: this box only works after a parent or guardian checks a box saying it's OK. When it is used, the photo (shrunk on the device first) and the typed question are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to make flashcards and a quiz. We do not save the photo, the question or the results, and we do not collect a name or email through it. Our AI provider may keep inputs for a limited time under its own policies, for example to keep its service safe. To limit abuse, we count how often a device's network address uses the box, and we keep that count only briefly in memory.
4. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Intellino is meant to be used by students, including children under 13. In line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- We get verifiable permission from a parent or guardian before collecting personal information from a child under 13.
- We collect only what is reasonably needed for the child to use the app.
- We do not let children post personal information publicly or chat with strangers. Trading of collectible items happens only inside the app and does not reveal personal details.
- Parents may review the information we hold about their child, ask us to delete it, and refuse any further collection by contacting us at the address below.
5. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers who help us run the app (for example hosting, AI processing and crash reporting) and who must protect it;
- with Apple, for subscriptions and app delivery;
- if required by law, or to keep a child or others safe.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information while the account is active. When an account is deleted, we remove the personal information within a reasonable time, except where the law requires us to keep something.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, such as encryption in transit and limited access, to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your login private.
8. Your choices and rights
You or your parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to close your account, at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. Contact us and we will help.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If the changes are important we will tell you in the app or here, and when required we will ask parents for permission again.
